Successors of Adolf Loos
The travelling exhibition "Successors of Adolf Loos" was prepared by the team of the Methodical Centre of Modern Architecture in Brno under the direction of Ing. Petr Svoboda in 2020 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the famous architect. In the summer of 2024, the exhibition will be repeated in the Norbertov Gallery, near the Müller Villa in Prague.
Adolf Loos, a world-famous Brno native, influenced many generations of architects. After Otto Wagner left the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts in 1911, Loos founded his own school. His successors include students, collaborators and those who were inspired by his work, such as Paul Engelmann, Heinrich Kulka, Richard Neutra and Ernst Wiesner. The exhibition will present selected followers of Loos and their remarkable works, which can be found not only in Vienna, but also around the world and in the Czech Republic.
